UFC Fight Night | Marc-André Barriault knocked out in 16 seconds

(Las Vegas) American Chidi Njokuani launched his UFC career with a bang on Saturday with a K. -O. to Gatineau’s Marc-André Barriault in just 16 seconds at UFC Fight Night.

Barriault (13-5-0) was taken by surprise by a left-right combination and collapsed against the fence. Njokuani (21-7-0) thrashed him until the referee called an end to hostilities. This K. -O. is the second fastest win to start a career.

Barriault, 32, had won his two previous duels.

The 33-year-old American fighter secured his UFC contract with a knockout victory. technique against Mario Filipe de Sousa in September. He had lost three of his last five fights.

The other three Canadians in the running had better nights.

Malcom Gordon, Hakeem Dawodu and Alexis Davis all triumphed in their respective bouts.

In the main event, American Sean Strickland defeated Sweden’s Jack Hermansson in the middleweight division by a split decision. Strickland signed a sixth consecutive victory.
