This is a new shock for world football. After the announcement of the exclusion of Russia last February for the next World Cup as well as Russian clubs for the various European cups in progress, UEFA has decided to strengthen its sanctions against Russia, Monday, May 2, following the latter’s invasion of Ukraine. Next season, Russian clubs will not be able to participate in the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League. Russia will also not be able to participate in the Women’s Euro, scheduled from July 6 to July 31, 2022. It is ultimately Portugal who will send their team to England.
Russia will not participate in this summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2022.
Portugal, the opponent defeated by Russia in the qualifying play-offs, will now participate in Group C.
