The talent pool of the university town convinced the company to open a studio there. “This regional technological center has become, over the years, a veritable breeding ground for talents in several areas of cutting-edge expertise,” commented Nathalie Jasmin, director of the Ubisoft Sherbrooke studio, in a press release.

“With the Sherbrooke studio, Ubisoft is pursuing its mission of not only being an important economic engine for all regions of Quebec, but also of continuing to invest in the talents and ecosystems that surround them,” adds Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO of Ubisoft.

Present at the announcement, the Minister of Economy and Innovation Pierre Fitzgibbon believes that the entire video game ecosystem comes out a winner from this announcement. “We are proud that Ubisoft has chosen to invest in Quebec to ensure its growth. Many young companies here will be able to benefit from the recognized expertise of this world leader and benefit from its networks. ”

Ubisoft has been present in Quebec for 25 years. In 2018, the company inaugurated its studio in Saguenay. Of the 20,000 employees of the multinational, nearly 5,000 are based in Quebec.
