Tyla cancels her world tour, including two visits to Montreal

(Johannesburg) South African singer Tyla, recently awarded at the Grammy ceremony, canceled her world tour a few weeks before the first concert in Oslo due to an injury, she announced on social networks.


“I consulted doctors and specialists with optimism, but the pain became excruciating, and the situation got worse,” the 22-year-old artist posted on Instagram on Thursday, admitting to suffering from an injury for a year , without giving further details.

“I don’t have the words to describe my frustration at a turning point in my career,” she added, promising a “spectacular” return once recovered.

The singer, dancer and performer was expected twice in the coming months in Montreal: she was to give a concert at the Beanfield Theater in May, then return to the Osheaga festival.

Tyla Laura Seethal had a breakthrough last year with her hit Water. She won the award for Best African Musical Performance at the Grammy Awards last month.

His first world tour was to begin at the end of the month in Norway, with stops in Europe and the United States, including the Coachella festival.
