In Kherson (Ukraine), it is impossible to forget the war. The city lives to the rhythm of bombs, the Russians are just opposite, on the other side of the river. In the middle of an air attack, a woman is giving birth. This birth makes the hospital staff feel joy because for several months, births have been rare in the city, 85% of the inhabitants have fled the city. The maternity ward is the only one to be open, even though it has already been targeted by the Russians twice.
Intense bombardments in the afternoon
Outside, the bombings continue, up to 120 per day. From 2 p.m., Kherson turns into a ghost town. From the afternoon onwards, the bombings intensified. A man, who has chosen to brave danger, has the mission to help those who cannot be evacuated, exhausted and angry residents. Staying outside means taking the risk of being spotted and then targeted by the Russians. Life is therefore organized in cellars and shelters.
