Two-year suspended prison sentence for the Anglet dentist who defrauded the CPAM

The sanction fell on Tuesday March 22, 2022 by the voice of the president of the judicial court of Bayonne, Emmanuelle Adoul. The Anglet dentist, judged on February 22, was sentenced for illegal exercise of the profession of dental surgeon and fraud against the CPAM of Bayonne. The facts date back to a period that runs from November 2017 to December 2018. The practitioner receives two years suspended sentence, a ban on exercising the profession of private dental surgeon for a period of five years. He is also sentenced to a fine of 5000 euros. He will have to reimburse 21,753 euros to the CPAM and pay 500 euros to the Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie for the damage caused by disruption.

Already sanctioned in the past

While he was already under a sanction prohibiting him from practicing his profession, due to non-compliance with certain medical protocols, the Anglet dentist had continued to receive patients in his office. To get paid by the CPAM, he backdated the invoices. Thus the Caisse de Bayonne, had received 360 acts for the single day of November 24, 2018, enough to panic the computers and the control procedures.

The practitioner can appeal this decision. His case would then be judged by the Pau Court of Appeal.
