This Sunday, September 11, it was high tide day. With even the strongest coefficients for this year 2022. The SNSM had also called on fishermen on foot, walkers and swimmers to be vigilant: this is a phenomenon that makes sea currents stronger and the more dangerous sea. Still, in Loire-Atlantique, two women and a child had to be rescued after being trapped by the rising waters in Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Brévin.
A mother and her child trapped in Saint-Nazaire
In Saint-Nazaire, the rescuers had to pick up a mother and her child at the beach of the “Petite Vallée”, near the tip of Cmoulin. They then brought them back to safety. They are not injured.
In Saint-Brévin, there it is a 49 year old lady who was trapped by the tide, at the level of the beach which runs along Boulevard Padioleau and the city center. She too was brought ashore by the emergency services. She’s not hurt.
High tides continue on Monday and Tuesday.
