The technical inspection of two-wheelers becomes compulsory in 2024. All registered vehicles will be concerned, including scooters.

In a few months, to ride two-wheelers on the road, you will have to have validated your technical control. The vehicles will first be checked five years after the first registration, then every three years. Two-wheelers of 50cm3 and more as well as three-wheelers are affected by the measure. The government plans to come into force at the start of 2024, but the obligation will be progressive according to the age of the vehicle.

The technical control should cost around 50 euros

For the Federation of Angry Bikers, this is not good news.It cannot be satisfied to do something which one knows full well is useless (…). No figure and no study comes to support the benefit of this technical control in relation to accidentality, the environment or noise”deplores Didier Renoux, the general delegate.

The technical control should cost around 50 euros, a necessary investment according to road safety associations.
