Two bulls disrupted air traffic on Monday September 25, in the afternoon, at Annecy-Meythet airport (Haute-Savoie), reports France Bleu Pays de Savoie. The two animals escaped from their pasture located near the airport. Frightened, they entered the site by forcing a fence, causing the interruption of air traffic from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Two more bulls were introduced onto the tarmac “to create a herd effect, and encourage their capture”, indicates one of the speakers. Once the animals “confined to one place”the firefighters were able to intervene to put them to sleep, using anesthetic arrows, in order to organize their evacuation.

The owners of the cattle were finally able to recover the four animals, before they woke up, helped by the firefighters, the Meythet gendarmes and the air transport gendarmerie brigade. None of the responders were injured. The airport returned to normal activity late Monday.
