Two touchdown passes from Brady help Buccaneers beat Saints

(Tampa) Tom Brady threw two touchdown passes in the final three minutes of Monday night’s game as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers erased a 13-point loss and defeated the New Orleans Saints 17-16.

With the win, the Buccaneers (6-6) maintained their grip on the No. 1 spot in the National Conference’s weak South Division.

Brady first completed a one-yard touchdown pass to rookie Cade Otton, to allow the Buccaneers to cut the Saints’ lead to 16-10 with exactly three minutes left.

The veteran quarterback, winner of seven Super Bowl games, was able to regain the ball with 2:29 to go. He capped the comeback with a six-yard pass to fellow rookie receiver Rachaad White with three seconds left in the fourth quarter.

In the backhand of the Saints (4-9), quarterback Andy Dalton amassed 225 yards through the air and completed a touchdown pass without being the victim of an interception.

However, the Saints paid dearly for having had to settle for three Wil Lutz goals after deep incursions into enemy territory.
