Two boys aged 12 and 18 have been missing since around 7 p.m. this Friday July 22 in a cave in Rouffignac-de-Sigoulès, south of Bergerac (Dordogne), reports France Bleu Périgord. The father of the two teenagers gave the alert, not seeing them return from the cave of Fontanguilière, where they had gone on an expedition.
The emergency services, the mayor of Rouffignac-de-Sigoulès and a dozen firefighters, supported by a team of speleologists are on site this evening. The mayor explains to France Bleu that these children are not tourists, they come from a family from Monsaguel, in the Dordogne.
The cave is very long, it is more than 4 km according to the mayor, which may complicate the search. The phone of the two boys has been geolocated inside the cave, but they are currently unreachable.
