The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the death of a man and a woman, which allegedly occurred overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, in the Laurentians. According to the police force, it could be a feminicide, committed in a conjugal context.
The woman in her thirties was found unresponsive in a residence. His death was later pronounced.
A man in his 70s was near her, also injured. He was taken to hospital and there are no fears for his life.
Not far from the residence, a 42-year-old man was found in a motor vehicle, seriously injured. His death was confirmed at the hospital.
The SQ cannot confirm for the moment if there is a family link between these three people, but suspects a marital murder.
“We are not looking for another suspect at the moment,” said SQ spokeswoman Marité Bolduc.
There were children in the house, who were entrusted to the services of youth protection.
Crimes against the person investigators were on scene Thursday to determine what happened.
