Two soldiers involved in a knife fight during the Fête de la Musique in Paris, one person seriously injured

The Paris public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into attempted intentional homicide following a brawl that occurred during the Fête de la Musique in Paris, on the night of Friday June 21 to Saturday June 22. One person is seriously injured. According to the first elements of the investigation, two soldiers are involved, France Bleu Paris reported on Saturday. In total, four people were taken into custody after this knife fight. The vital prognosis of the seriously injured person is no longer in jeopardy, specifies the Paris prosecutor’s office.

This period of police custody should in particular serve to clarify the profile of those arrested. “Their status is being verified”, says the prosecution, but according to a police source contacted by France Bleu Paris, two soldiers are involved in this fight. The events occurred at 2 a.m. on the night of Friday to Saturday, rue Didot in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. On site, the police “separated six people”.

According to the first elements of the investigation into the origin of this brawl, the “two soldiers approached a woman”followed by an altercation involving the couple’s companion and a friend. “One of the soldiers then took out a knife” and hurt “several people”, continued the same source. The investigation into attempted intentional homicide was entrusted to the 14th arrondissement police station. The investigations initially focus on the course of events, in particular on “the degree of involvement of each of the accused”explains the prosecution.
