Two-season contract | Jamal Davis II back with the Alouettes

The Montreal Alouettes signed a new two-year deal to American defensive lineman Jamal Davis II on Friday.

Davis, a six-foot-three, 245-pound player, is back with the Montreal squad after attending training camp with the Los Angeles Chargers for the past few weeks.

In three preseason games with the California team, the 27-year-old defensive end had four solo tackles, five assisted tackles, as well as two tackles for a loss.

“His return will definitely add a good dose of energy to our defensive unit, as well as to the whole team, during the final stretch of the season that we are about to begin,” said the general manager and head coach. Alouettes interim Danny Maciocia.

Last year, with the Alouettes, the athlete from Canton, Ohio, established himself in the rotation after starting the season on the practice squad.

He recorded 17 defensive tackles and four sacks in just nine games with the Birds, in addition to scoring for 19 yards after recovering a fumble.
