This Wednesday, June 29, the six vice-presidents of the National Assembly were elected. Among them, two deputies from RN accede to this post which arouses strong criticism on the left.

For the first time, the National Assembly has two vice-presidents from the National Rally: Sebastien Chenu and Hélène Laporte. A historic election according to the two deputies. “We have put an end to the caricatures that have been made of us for years (…) We are here to work, we are not here to deconstruct unlike others“, said Sebastien Chenu.

But the controversy swells. The deputies were elected with almost four times more votes than there are deputies in their group. Sandrine Rousseau sees it as a hidden agreement between the majority, the Republicans and the National Rally.RN candidates were elected with more than 280 votes. This therefore means that there were LREM votes explicitly on RN candidacies for the vice-presidency of the National Assembly“, assures Sandrine Rousseau. On the side of the presidential party, we assume even if we do not hide our embarrassment.
