Two police officers were shot and injured by a man taken into custody for domestic violence on the evening of Thursday, May 9 in the 13th arrondissement police station.
Two police officers rushed to hospital. They were seriously injured by bullets in the premises of the police station in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. At 10:30 p.m., on the evening of Thursday, May 9, a suspect, after being arrested, managed to seize a service weapon. He fired twice at the police officers. “Before he was taken into care, there was a search. When he was blowing on the breathalyzer (…) he managed to steal tears from a squad”explained the Paris police prefect, Laurent Nuñez.
Worrying behavior
The suspect was arrested a few blocks from the police station. The man in his thirties allegedly locked himself in a woman’s apartment before violently attacking her with a box cutter. By a miracle, she survived. The suspect had displayed worrying behavior; he had been seen by neighbors prowling around the building in recent days. The injured police officers are still hospitalized and the vital prognosis of one of them is still in jeopardy. Three investigations were opened. The alleged attacker, victim of return fire, is still hospitalized. His life would no longer be in danger.
