Two police officers, who were tried on Tuesday October 17 by the Paris criminal court, were sentenced respectively to one year in prison and four months in prison for illegal consultation of files in favor of former boxer Farid Khider, noted the franceinfo journalist present at the hearing.

The first, who was a chief brigadier in Paris before being dismissed, was given a one-year suspended prison sentence and a ban on holding public office for three years. The man, absent at the trial, was notably found guilty of forgery and use of forged documents for having requested a judicial requisition in order to geolocate a person via his telephone operator.

The second police officer, commander in Hauts-de-Seine, present at the trial, was sentenced to four months in prison for having transmitted information from two vehicle registration system files (SIV) and the file national driving licenses (FNPC).

In both cases, the information was requested by Farid Khider, six-time world Thai boxing champion already convicted of possession of weapons and violence against a spouse. In this case, he was sentenced to a fine of 3,600 euros on Tuesday. It was during tapping of his telephone line in an organized crime case (in which Farid Khider was acquitted) that investigators became interested in the two police officers. An investigation was opened in February 2020 entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).
