A knife attack took place in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), in the Saint-Pierre d’Arène church. The facts took place on the morning of Sunday, April 24. Two people were injured.
Some faithful were already present in the Saint-Pierre d’Arène church in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), when a man armed with a knife attacked the priest just before the start of the service, Sunday April 24 . Father Christophe was struck ten times in the leg and chest. A sister, Marie-Claude, then intervened to snatch the knife from the hands of the aggressor. She was injured in the hand. Both were quickly taken care of by firefighters. The vital prognosis of the priest is not engaged.
After attempting to run away, the suspect was arrested by police. A few minutes later, the prefect arrived on site with the mayor of Nice. At this time, the terrorist track is not privileged. Many people from Nice came near the church after this attack, to show their support for the Catholic community. As soon as he learned the facts, the father of the aggressor went to the scene to make himself available to the investigators.
