The investigation into the Brussels attack is progressing. Two people, domiciled in the Paris region and “likely to be linked to the author of the attack” committed in Belgium, were presented on Monday October 23 to a Parisian investigating judge, AFP learned from the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat). This judge must now decide on their possible indictment for criminal terrorist association.
The Pnat specifies that “investigations are continuing to clarify the links” of the two implicated with Abdesalem Lassoued, a radicalized Tunisian aged 45, who killed two Swedes with weapons of war.
The attack was claimed by the Islamic State group. “An ISIS fighter carried out an attack on Swedish nationals on Monday,” ISIS said in a statement published on Amaq, the organization’s media outlet.
