The feat of the weekend in the Coupe de France football, in the Gard is for .. the Nîmes of Chemin Bas d’Avignon ! They will play well in the eighth round of the competition. Chemin bas won on penalties against Frontignan, at the Stade Jean Bouin (5 shots on goal to 3; 0-0 at the end of regulation time). Are eliminated, however, Alès, beaten 2-0 by Bastia Borgo yesterday (Sunday) but also FC Chusclan-Laudun and Langlade. The Gard will thus have two Nîmes clubs in the next round.
The Nîmes of Chemin Bas will earn a great reputation as cool-blooded players in the ultimate event: they remain on four consecutive qualifications on penalties. In the fourth round, Chemin Bas eliminated Le Grau-du-Roi (R3) 1-1 (4 shots on goal to 2), then in the fifth round Saverdun (R3, Ariège) 0-0 (3 shots on goal to 4); in the sixth round Uchaud (R2), 1-1 (5 shots on goal to 6). And so Frontignan this Sunday in the seventh round.
Chemin Bas will receive Agde, the national 3 club, (the scorer of Langlade) and Nîmes Olympique will move to Aubagne, a National 2 club.
