The first project should see the light of day in 2024 at the intersection of Berri and Sainte-Catherine streets. Entitled “Irregular Diamonds”, the bronze work by Yann Pocreau will consist of three prisms with dates, quotations and names integrated.
“Yann Pocreau’s work bears witness to the effervescence of the Latin Quarter with its university environment and its social realities,” explained Ericka Alneus, responsible for culture and heritage on the executive committee of the City of Montreal.
This will be the third work of public art by Yann Pocreau after “Leurs effigies” installed at the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal and “Archéologies” visible on the forecourt of the Maison de la culture in Verdun.
The artist Valérie Blass will design her work in collaboration with the consultants of the Avenue McGill College project and the municipal services.
