The first victim, a 64-year-old man known to the police, was located by the police around 9:45 p.m. at the corner of Jules-Poitras and Deguire boulevards. The man, shot in the upper body, died on the spot.
The second episode of violence occurred on Meilleur Street an hour later. Again, officers found a man on the ground with gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
“For an unknown reason, a suspect allegedly fired on the victim,” said police spokeswoman Gabriella Youakim.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) had still not made public the age of the two victims on Wednesday morning.
There are no arrests in these files at this time and it is not known if the two events are related. A perimeter has been erected so that the investigators can determine the causes and circumstances.
These are the 16e and 17e homicides to occur on SPVM territory in 2022.
