Be careful if you have bought tap shoes in recent months. Two Disney brand models were recalled on Monday, June 12, because they contain a higher than expected level of a chemical substance and a risk of DEHP poisoning, assures the government site Rappel Conso, Tuesday.

DEHP is a toxic substance from the family of phthalates which makes plastic more flexible and is present in particular in textiles and furniture. Toxic for reproduction and spreading easily in the environment, since 2015 it has been subject to an authorization procedure for companies wishing to use it.

The first model recalled is a pair of Ariel slides (lot number FCC-006021-22246). Two bands of transparent plastic, one pink and the other blue, encrusted with small shiny balls pass over the foot. The second model is a pair of white Minie Mouse slides (lot number FCC-006021-22246) with a portrait of the character drawn in red on the heel. A strip of transparent plastic with white dots surmounts the foot.

The former were marketed from February 13 to May 16 and the latter from February 20 to May 2. Reminder Conso recommends that you no longer use these slides and return them to the point of sale or contact consumer service.
