The two minors, aged 17 and 15, who broke into the Marguerite-de-Valois high school in Angoulême on January 18, were sentenced by the juvenile court. Three weeks after their intrusion, they are the subject of placement measures, reported Tuesday February 6, France Bleu La Rochelle.

They entered the school, masked and armed with a tear gas canister, injuring a teacher who wanted to intervene. They were tried this Tuesday before the children’s court, at the Angoulême courthouse.

The oldest placed in a closed educational center

The oldest, who will be of age in June, well known to the justice services for acts of violence, was found guilty of violence with weapons against a person entrusted with a public service mission, the teacher who was injured. He was given a seven-month suspended prison sentence, since he has been incarcerated since his release the day after the events, a little over three weeks ago. During the remaining six months of probation, until he reaches the age of majority, he will be placed in a closed educational center, in a neighboring department of Charente.

As for the youngest, who was under judicial supervision since January 20, he was also found guilty of the same offenses, but he is not known to the justice services, and he will be the subject of an education measure provisional judicial, with an uncle far away from Charente. The two boys are prohibited from having contact with the victims and required to follow professional training.
