Two minors are indicted for murder, announced the public prosecutor of Dunkirk, Friday April 19, after the death of Philippe, 23, in Grande-Synthe (North). Violently attacked during the night from Monday to Tuesday, he succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Tuesday evening. “Philippe’s death was caused by several blows to his head”specified Charlotte Huet, before reporting“additional medical examinations” which will be carried out. The magistrate said she did not know the number of blows inflicted on the young man. The autopsy also did not reveal whether a weapon had been used.
The two minors indicted are aged 14 and 15, added the prosecutor. The youngest was placed in pre-trial detention. The decision for the oldest was not yet known at the time of the press conference. According to the magistrate, they declared having arranged an appointment for the victim on a dating site, posing as “a minor girl”.
Charlotte Huet also highlighted the existence of another investigation regarding “other attacks committed in similar circumstances”that’s to say “after appointments arranged on the dating site Cocoland”. She invited possible victims to report to the authorities.
