Saturday morning, around 4:50 a.m., a double knife attack took place outside a residence located on Montée du Moulin, in Carignan, Montérégie.
According to information from the captain of the Richelieu Saint-Laurent Intermunicipal Police Board, the victims were attacked by a group of individuals, but it would be too early to specify their exact number. The victims contacted the police themselves.
Two men, brothers in their mid-twenties from Saint-Hyacinthe, were taken to hospital. Police authorities say they fear for the life of at least one of them.
The police were also able to confirm that one of the victims was able to travel to Saint-Hubert before the event and that she was found in a convenience store on Grande Allée Boulevard.
No arrests have been made at this time.
A security perimeter was erected at the scene of the crime. Although we know that a chicane could be at the origin of the altercation, we still do not know the exact reason for this double attack. An investigation is underway to shed light on this story.
