Two men injured by gunfire in Montreal North

Two 18-year-old young men were shot Sunday evening in the Montreal-North borough. According to witnesses, they were targeted by people in a car who then fled. An investigation has been opened.


Another worrying fact: projectile impacts were found in a residential building in the area where the victims were hit. Residents were in the building, but no one was injured, said Véronique Dubuc, media relations officer for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), on Sunday evening.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Pascal Street and Matte Avenue around 8 p.m. Sunday, after receiving several calls from citizens. At the scene, they found two 18-year-old men with gunshot wounds to their lower bodies. They were transported to hospital while still conscious and their lives were not in danger, according to Officer Dubuc.

This is a residential area of ​​Montreal North where the streets are lined with apartment buildings. According to witnesses to the event, several people in a vehicle fired at the victims who were walking on rue Pascal. The attackers then fled.

A perimeter was established and SPVM officers and a dog handler were deployed. Gun shell casings were found at the scene. Projectile impacts were also found on a building in the area.

An SPVM investigation was opened to shed light on the circumstances of this armed attack.
