The investigation into the death of five migrants, including a little girl, who attempted to cross the Channel on Tuesday from France, continues. Two men were charged on Friday April 26 in the United Kingdom, the British crime agency announced. A 22-year-old South Sudanese national has been charged with aiding illegal immigration and illegal entry into the UK. A 22-year-old Sudanese man was charged with illegal entry into the United Kingdom.

Arrested on Wednesday, the two men are still in police custody and must be presented during the day on Friday before a court in Folkestone, in the south-east of England. A third suspect, an 18-year-old Sudanese man, arrested Thursday, remains in police custody Friday. Another 19-year-old man, also from Sudan, was released without prosecution.

In addition to a little girl, three men and a woman are among the victims. Some 112 people, including Syrians and Iraqis, were on board the boat. The boat set sail around 5 a.m., but the engine stopped a few hundred meters from the shore and people fell into the water. Around fifty migrants were rescued, then disembarked in Boulogne-sur-Mer. The others returned to the United Kingdom.
