Malcolm X was an icon of the struggle for the black cause in the United States. 56 years ago, he was assassinated in New York. A documentary on this page of American history has just made it possible to exonerate two men, convicted of this murder.
They spent almost 20 years behind bars, but they should soon be cleared of the murder of Malcolm X. In February 1965, the defender of African-American rights was shot dead in the middle of his speech in Harlem, New York (United States). A man is immediately neutralized. Two others are arrested and sentenced: Muhammad Aziz and Khalil Islam. They are two activists from a political and religious organization whose door Malcolm X has just slammed.
During their detention and on their release, they never ceased to proclaim their innocence. “Even if I had wanted to do it, I couldn’t have”, testifies Muhammad Aziz. It is a Netflix documentary which revived the whole affair revealing that the FBI and that the New York police force would have dismissed the alibi of one of the two men and concealed crucial evidence. 55 years after the assassination of Malcolm X, the Manhattan prosecutor decides to reconsider the case.
