Two men were attacked by the rottweiler of one of them according to information revealed by Ouest-France and confirmed this Saturday evening by the Angers public prosecutor, Eric Bouillard.
It was a fisherman who alerted the emergency services this Saturday, December 30, 2023, early in the morning, according to our colleagues.
As he passed near a vehicle parked in an isolated place on the banks of the Sarthe, in Tiercé, in Maine-et-Loire, he was stopped by a seriously injured man.
Arriving on site, firefighters discovered two men, aged 41 and 51, locked in a vehicle where they had apparently taken refuge to protect themselves from the dog which was still nearby. An animal then seized by state services.
They were attacked by the rottweiler the evening before. The dog’s owner did not survive, his death is “attributed to dog bites”. The second man was transported to Angers University Hospital by firefighters. His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy.
An investigation is currently underway to try to determine what happened, and in particular whether it was an accident, said the Angers public prosecutor.
