While Russia launched a new offensive in Kharkiv, kyiv announced on Friday May 10 that a plot against the Ukrainian president had been foiled.
Two Ukrainians arrested allegedly hatched a plot against Volodymyr Zelensky. They were reportedly apprehended by Ukrainian intelligence services. According to kyiv, their mission was to take the president hostage and then assassinate him. These agents were allegedly recruited by Russia just before the start of the war. One of the suspects details: “The mission was to recruit someone to block the president during an outing, for example.”
The head of military intelligence also targeted
These spies in the pay of the Russians according to kyiv were also supposed to kill the head of Ukrainian military intelligence. Moscow was to reach the building where he was regularly located with a first missile. “After that, the Russians had to send a second missile to erase all traces, especially that of a drone”, explains the Ukrainian intelligence spokesperson. A drone was indeed found at the home of a suspect. Friday May 10, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he would dismiss the head of his personal security, deemed responsible for not having seen this plot coming. To date, the Russians have not reacted.
