Two Carpathian lynx cubs have been born in a zoo near Dunkirk (Nord). According to the establishment, these are the 14th and 15th births this year.

Two beautiful little balls of fur with pointed ears. Two males were discovered with surprise by the keepers of the Bio-Topia zoo park in Fort-Mardyck, near Dunkirk (North), about fifteen days after their birth in mid-June. These baby Carpathian lynx have only been out of their den for a few days.

Now, the two felines are the new stars of the zoo park. “It impressed us, they went to suckle,” observes a visitor. This double birth is exceptional. To successfully carry out the European conservation program for the species, 30 of these babies would have to be born every year in France. There were only about ten last year. 2024 has so far been a fertile year for the park with the recent births of a baby pelican and six otters. The public is being asked to vote to find a name for the two little lynxes.
