War in Gaza: two Israeli hostages released by the IDF after a night operation – (FRANCEINFO)
Two Israeli hostages were released by the IDF on the night of February 11 to 12, after a large operation by an Israeli army commando in Rafah, in the south of Gaza.
Israeli hostages were released on the night of Sunday February 11 to Monday February 12, after an extraordinary operation. It all started with a deluge of fire on Rafah, in the south of the Palestinian enclave. It’s 1:40 a.m., and an Israeli commando is on its way. Its objective is very specific: a residential building wedged between the road and greenhouses. It is here that the hostages have been spotted for several days. The General Staff follows the operation live. At 1:50 a.m., the commando is at the foot of the building.
14 buildings affected
According to the soldiers’ account, they blew up a door using explosives, killing three Palestinian guards before reaching the hostages. The bombings did not stop, to cover the retreat of the soldiers and the convoy. 14 buildings were affected, including three mosques. 67 people died, including civilians, according to Hamas.
