Two hostages were released in the Gaza Strip, after a vast night operation by the Israeli army, on the night of February 11 to 12.
The joy and relief of having found their wives, after 128 days of captivity, Simon Marman and Luis Har are now free, back in Israel. Arriving by helicopter early on February 12, the two men were urgently admitted to hospital. The end of several months of worry for their loved ones. “They look healthy, they have a lot of treatments and exams“, explains the son-in-law of one of the two hostages. A military operation, led by the IDF, allowed the release of the hostages.
Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israeli army, welcomes the success of the operation: “This is a very complex rescue operation, under fire and based on very sensitive intelligence.”he said.
Intensification of strikes in Rafah
At the same time, Israeli forces struck Rafah throughout the night, killing around a hundred people according to Hamas, in this town located in the south of the Gaza Strip, where more than 1.4 million people are now crowded.
