The buses of Olympique Lyonnais players and their supporters were violently stoned on Sunday evening October 29 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). The coach was even injured in the face. Back to the events.

This Monday morning, October 30, Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) woke up groggy. OM supporters are in low spirits. These Parisians traveled more than 1,000 km to attend the ruined meeting between OM and OL. “We thought we were coming to party, and we left as if we had lost”, declares a man. It was 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening when the OL players’ bus and a bus of Lyon supporters were targeted, stoned by Marseillais.

Nine people arrested

The jets of projectiles explode the windows of the OL players’ bus. The coach, injured in the face, is bleeding. An hour later, the match was postponed. 64,000 people are asked to leave the Vélodrome stadium. “We saw Fabio Grosso’s face, he’s the Lyon coach, we can’t condone that.”, said a Marseille supporter. Who are these individuals behind these acts of violence, committed outside the stadium? Two investigations are underway. 500 police officers were mobilized for this meeting, five were injured. Nine people were arrested.
