Two detainees and three prison officers were injured, including one seriously, on Friday January 28 in the fire in a cell in the Fleury-Mérogis remand center (Essonne). According to the prosecutor of Evry, Caroline Nisand, the fire was deliberate. “The investigation will aim to determine the precise conditions under which the fire broke out”, she said.
