Two injured in a road accident in the Dordogne

A major road accident took place this Friday, June 10 on the D6089 departmental road at a place called Fontaine de Chabaneix in the town of Saint-Crépin-d’Auberoche in the Dordogne. Around 3:30 p.m., a car traveling in the Périgueux-Brive direction swerved to the left lane in the bend, 500 meters from the radar. She collided head-on with an oncoming car.

Two injured

According to the gendarmes, the two drivers are between the ages of 70 and 80. Two people were injured and evacuated to Périgueux hospital. The severity of their injuries is not yet known. According to the gendarmes, the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel before deporting.

According to the mayor of the town Clovis Tallet, a third vehicle would have been hit by the projection of debris at the time of the impact.

Traffic has been cut off

Traffic was cut in both directions, before resuming on one lane around 5:45 p.m. Diversions have been put in place at Bassillac and Saint-Crépin-d’Auberoche.
