Two hat tricks in two games for Robertson

For the second time in as many games, Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson hit the target three times. He helped his team beat the Minnesota Wild 6-3 on Sunday at the Xcel Energy Center.

The 22-year-old athlete began his evening of work at the very beginning of the second period, when he deceived the vigilance of Kaapo Kahkonen on the power play. He thus offered a 2 to 1 lead to his team. Shortly before the halfway mark, Robertson flashed the red light with a shot that Kahkonen would certainly like to see again. Moreover, this allowed goal earned the masked Wild man to be withdrawn in favor of Cam Talbot, after giving up four times on 21 shots.

Robertson completed his hat trick in an empty net late in the third period. He also accomplished the feat two days earlier in the Stars’ 4-3 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets. It’s the first time in Stars history that a player has scored three goals in two straight games.

Texas striker Riley Tufte will also remember this duel for a long time. The Stars’ 2016 first-round pick (25th overall) scored for the first time in his National League career in the second period. This goal was all the more special for the 23-year-old skater, who hails from Minnesota.

Joe Pavelski, on the power play, and Jamie Benn, in an empty cage, also scored for the visitors.

In front of the Stars cage, Jake Oettinger repelled 32 of the 35 pucks aimed at him. He gave in to Nico Sturm and Kirill Kaprizov (twice).
