Two gendarmerie brigades in Sud-Mayenne reopen to the public four hours a week

This is the return of a real local service in two towns in southern Mayenne. The gendarmerie brigades of Saint-Aignan-sur-Roë and Grez-en-Bouère reopen their doors to the public half a day a week. There had been no reception in these two brigades for many years (six years in Grez-en-Bouère, eight years in Saint-Aignan).

More proximity

This is essential for Commander Raphaël Clochard. He directs the gendarmerie company of Château-Gontier sur Mayenne: “It is a return of public service closer to the population. This is part of a fairly broad philosophy which is to increase the presence of the police on the ground, whether on foot or by bicycle. It seemed logical to me to reopen the two units to show greater proximity. This thus makes it possible to give the inhabitants of these two municipalities the possibility of going to one of these brigades for half a day a week. Units that never actually closed. There have always been gendarmes, six in Grez-en-Bouère and eight in Saint-Aignan-sur-Roe, but the reception was closed to him.

The inhabitants of southern Mayenne will be able to go to these two brigades to lodge a complaint, to obtain information, for a power of attorneyto register for “holiday tranquility”, “senior tranquility” or “business tranquility” operations.

Two brigade openings in Mayenne

It should be noted that the opening of these public reception centers has nothing to do with the two openings of brigades announced on October 10 by the President of the Republic when he came to Mayenne. Commander Raphaël Clochard specifies: “This project announced by the President of the Republic is not limited to Grez-en-Bouère and Saint-Aignan, I would not like there to be confusion. Both units are indeed existing and are reopening to the public._” A consultation between the Mayenne gendarmerie and local elected officials will be organized. Nothing is fixed for the moment.

At the Saint-Aignan-sur-Roë brigade, the reception takes place every Friday morning 8 a.m. to noon. In Grez-en-Bouère, it’s Monday morning from 8 a.m. to noon, starting Monday, November 7.
