Two friends hit the $5 million jackpot by scratching a “Colossal!” bought in a convenience store in Montreal.
Marvin Karl Henderson Faisal, from Montreal, and Salvacion Carillo, from Estrie, told Loto-Québec that they like to try their luck together in the lottery on occasion. They did just that recently by scratching a “Colossal!” in Dépanneur Casey, located on Ogilvy Avenue, in Montreal.
Seeing that they had won the jackpot, they immediately went to the Loto-Québec offices to claim their share of $2,500,000 each.
On the way, Mr. Faisal nevertheless informed his employer “that he was going to be a little late”. “But I’m going to take my leave tomorrow!” he would have thrown at her.
With their win, the lucky two plan to make “investments and spoil themselves by taking a few trips.”
The retailer will receive a commission of $50,000, equivalent to 1% of the gain.
