Friday, May 20, two French films were screened as part of the Cannes Film Festival. “Brother and Sister” by Arnaud Desplechin, and “Le Petit Nicolas, – What are we waiting for to be happy?”, animated film by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre.

Several children were invited to climb the steps of the Cannes Film Festival on Friday May 20 to attend the screening of the animated film Le Petit Nicolas – What are we waiting for to be happy?. The film recounts the creation of the famous schoolboy by Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny. To see this new Little Nicholaswe will have to wait for its theatrical release, scheduled for October.

The other event of the day in Cannes: the screening of Brother and Sister by Arnaud Desplechin, the first French film in competition, in which Marion Cotillard and Melvil Poupaud appear. A story of love and hate within a family. “What challenges is the way in which we can move away from people with whom we share blood, a life, a childhood”, testifies Marion Cotillard, about the subject of the feature film. The film was released in theaters everywhere in France on Friday May 20.
