A hotel in Kharkiv (Ukraine) was bombed by the Russian army on the evening of Wednesday January 10. Journalists from France Télévisions Anaïs Hanquet and Valérie Lucas were there. They were unhurt, but their fixer was slightly injured. “When we arrived in front of our rooms, (…) we heard a huge bombardment. (…) There were a few seconds of blur when we were on the ground”says Anaïs Hanquet from Kharkiv.

A second bombing which “directly hit the hotel”

The journalist says that there was then a new bombing. “I felt it was stronger. This second bombing directly hit the hotel, while the first bombing hit the parking lot. I felt pieces of wood falling on us.”she remembers. “We got up, we immediately went to get our fixer. (…) We saw her arrive with blood on her face. She had been injured in her hotel room, she had received shrapnel of glass”explains Anaïs Hanquet.
