Tuesday, October 26, the Paris Assize Court will judge the accused of the murder of Mireille Knoll, a woman murdered in her apartment in 2018. The anti-Semitic nature of the murder has been retained. The affair had scandalized public opinion.
A question has haunted those close to Mireille Knoll since her death: why this woman in her eighties and without history was she cowardly murdered? On March 23, 2018, the woman’s body was discovered at her home, charred and marked by eleven stabbing marks. Almost 3 years later, the trial of the two defendants opens at the Paris Assize Court. The two individuals are Yacine Mihoub, son of a neighbor, and Alex Carrimbacus, a friend of the latter. The face-to-face with the two accused is a moment that the victim’s son dreads. “She was stabbed, but on top of that, she was burned. For me, it doesn’t get worse,” says Daniel Knoll.
All Daniel Knoll wants is for one of the two accused to assume he is his mother’s killer. Because neither of the two men assumes the gesture, accusing each other. Yacine Mihoub was also accused by Alex Carrimbacus of shouting “Allah Akbar” before taking action. For Alex Carrimbacus’ lawyer, it is a “hate crime“that his client did not commit.”It’s villainous anti-Semitism“Says Gilles-William Goldnadel, lawyer for the Knoll family. Anti-Semitism being an aggravating cause in this murder, the two men risk life imprisonment.
