Two people died on Thursday August 25 in the sinking of their boat near Fort Brégançon (Var), France Bleu Provence reported on Friday August 26. The two vacationers, in their 70s, could not be revived by the emergency services.
The emergency services of the Interregional Directorate of the Mediterranean Sea (DIRM) were alerted at the end of the day to the sinking of a boat with four people on board. According to the first elements, the ship was damaged against rocks before being “ungrounded” by other boaters.
The victims were then rescued by other ships present before help arrived. Of the four people on board, the two septuagenarians, a man and a woman, were in cardio-respiratory arrest.
According to the maritime prefecture, the man was brought back to Bormes cove and the woman to Galère beach. They could not be revived. The coastal nautical brigade of the Lavandou gendarmerie went on site to make the usual observations.
