The night from Saturday to Sunday was eventful in Brampton and Newtonville, a suburb of Toronto, with two shootings which left two dead and three injured.
On the Brampton side, a shooting broke out around 2 a.m. at the Gateway Convention Center, where a ball was taking place to celebrate Father’s Day.
For some reason that remained mysterious in the morning, suspects opened fire near the establishment, fatally hitting two men.
“One of the victims was confirmed dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a trauma center, where she succumbed to her injuries,” detailed a spokesperson for the Peel Regional Police. , Charles Payette, providing an update with the media.
The latter called the witnesses of the scene who would have taken photos or videos to contact the police to help the investigators.
Banquet center owner Richard Marshall told CityNews that the suspects were allegedly denied entry to the party shortly before the shooting.

In the aftermath, while paramedics were tending to the injured, a fourth man presented himself to a local hospital with serious stab wounds. He too had to be sent to a trauma center.
