Two people died and four others were shot and injured in a shooting on Saturday September 28 evening in the 14th arrondissement in Marseille, France Bleu Provence and franceinfo learned from consistent sources, confirming information from BFM Provence. The vital prognosis of one of the injured is in jeopardy.

The events took place shortly before midnight on Saturday, avenue Georges Braque, in the Iris district. The victims were at the entrance to a neighborhood bar, located in an association premises. According to Marseille firefighters, the victims are aged between 25 and 40 years old. The shots came from Kalashnikov-type assault rifles.

“This could be linked to drug trafficking”indicates Sunday morning the public prosecutor of Marseille, Nicolas Bessone, who adds that“at least one victim is unfavorably known to the justice system for cases related to drug trafficking.” A vehicle was also found burned near the scene of the shooting, located near a deal point, according to France Bleu Provence. The judicial police have been contacted and an investigation has been opened.

France Bleu Provence recalls that on July 10, a 19-year-old young man was shot and killed in the same Cité des Iris in Marseille, in a probable “narchomicide”, a homicide against a backdrop of drug trafficking.
