two days of trial after the drowning of a 12-year-old English woman

The court of Tulle looks from this Tuesday on the responsibilities in the drowning of a young English girl of 12 years in the lake of Triouzoune, in July 2015, in Liginiac. The little girl was fell in the water from a pontoon, on the Maury site, where she played jumping with other children participating, like her, in a holiday center for young British people located in Meymac. When the pontoon overturned, her comrades were able to get out of the water but she did not reappear.

The beach lifeguard dived several times before finding her. The girl, who had been in cardiac arrest for 15 minutes, was able to be revived but she finally died the next day at the Limoges University Hospital, where she had been airlifted in critical condition. The three British teachers who supervised the stay and the lifeguard appear for “manslaughter by manifest violation of an obligation of security or prudence.” The town of Liginiac is also referred to the court of Tulle for “involuntary homicide by a legal person.” The trial takes place over two days, this Tuesday and this Wednesday.
