A man in his twenties is in critical condition after being stabbed in the upper body Saturday afternoon in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal.
It was around 3 p.m. that the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was called to intervene in an apartment building located on Desnoyers Street, near Cazelais Street.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered significant injuries to his upper body, caused by a sharp object, but was conscious when he was transported by ambulance, said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the SPVM.
His condition is critical, but there is no fear for his life, added the spokesperson on Saturday at the end of the day.

According to initial information, at least one suspect fled on foot before the police arrived.
A security perimeter was erected, and the police began searching the area.
“The investigation is only in its early stages,” underlined Mr.me Drouin.
