Two cyclists from Franche-Comté win the queen events of Extreme sur Loue

The plateau was raised this Sunday, October 2 in Ornans, for the 24th edition of Extrême sur Loue. Two events counting for the UCI world championships were organised. Estelle Morel, from Orchamps-Vennes in the Doubs, won the 66 km women’s 6 minutes ahead of its competitors. This is his third victory in this race.

“It’s home here. I know the course well. I wanted to do well. It’s always nice to win a race like this, reacts the cyclist on arrival. The first two times, there was not as much international level behind. There, it has a particular flavor. It played out in the slippery parts. I had never experienced these conditions, but my tires were good.”

On the men’s side, Besançon Axel Roudil-Cortinat finished first in the 88 kms. He becomes the first French winner of the event.

2,300 participants over the whole weekend

The cyclists have all arrived body and face filled with mud, after the rain of recent days in Franche-Comté. Same situation for nearly 2,000 amateurs registered for Extreme mountain biking in Loue. They were 2,300 throughout the weekend, counting the walks on Saturday October 1st.
