Attacks on Russian soil continue. The capital of the Russian region of Belgorod, on the border with Ukraine, was hit by rocket launcher strikes which damaged several residential buildings, leaving one dead and five injured, according to the regional governor on Saturday March 23. Earlier, a drone attack in the same area killed one civilian and injured two others. “The morning was going to be difficult”, wrote Vyacheslav Gladkov on Telegram, indicating that two districts in his region were attacked by drones. kyiv had promised to bring the fighting to Russian soil, in retaliation for the numerous bombings on its territory. A fire at a Russian refinery after a drone attack. “Last night, several drone attacks against regional oil refineries were committed”, the governor of the Russian region of Samara said on Saturday. The authorities do not report any casualties. “We see that the enemy who suffers defeats on the battlefield is doing everything possible to undermine our endurance and unity”estimated the Russian official.
Ukrainian drones neutralized in several Russian regions. The Russian Defense Ministry said it had neutralized overnight “12 Ukrainian drones”, in a press release. These machines were above the regions of Briansk (5), Belgorod (5), Voronezh (1), all three bordering Ukraine, as well as above that of Saratov (1).
Kharkiv plunged into darkness. Ukraine’s second city had no electricity on Friday evening, after massive Russian bombings targeted energy infrastructure during the night from Thursday to Friday. These attacks left at least five dead in the country, according to the Ukrainian authorities.
